Quality blinds are made to last 15-20 years — but cords snap, tilt mechanisms wear out, and tracks bend. Most of these issues are inexpensive repairs that restore full function. FlameShield Toronto offers professional blind repair across the GTA with onsite service for most issues.

Common Repairs

  • Lift cord replacement — frayed or snapped cords, replacement with manufacturer-matched cord weight.
  • Tilt mechanism replacement — broken plastic gears, snapped tilt rods, replacement wands.
  • Slat replacement — cracked, warped or sun-damaged wood and faux wood slats.
  • Track replacement — bent vertical blind tracks, damaged carriers, broken stems.
  • Headrail rebuild — complete internal mechanism replacement when individual components are no longer available.
  • Cord lock and break system — failed brake mechanisms causing blinds to drop unexpectedly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What blind repairs do you offer? +
Broken lift cords, replacement tilt wands, snapped tilt mechanisms, damaged headrails, replacement slats (wood and faux), worn lift cord beads, broken bottom rails, and full track replacement. We carry parts for most major brands including Hunter Douglas, Levolor, Graber, Bali and IKEA blinds.
Is it worth repairing blinds vs replacing? +
Almost always yes. Quality blinds (especially Hunter Douglas) cost $200-$1500+ per window. Most repairs are $40-$150 per blind including parts and onsite service. We tell you upfront if a blind is beyond economical repair.
Do you carry parts for older or discontinued blinds? +
Many older blinds have replacement parts still in production. For truly discontinued products, we can often retrofit modern components or rebuild headrails to keep blinds functional. We bring our parts catalogue to the free quote visit.
Can you repair onsite or do you take blinds away? +
Most repairs are completed onsite within one visit. Complex headrail rebuilds or full track replacement may require a 1-2 day take-away. We confirm during the free quote.
